SUPERFOOD STATUS OF YERBA MATE
Yerba Mate is an ancient superfood superdrink originating and still grown mostly in Argentina, where Good Pantry sources it from. Drinking Yerba Mate as a source of natural energy is a smart choice. Drinking the tea awakens the mind and energizes the body with its naturally occurring caffeine, theobromine, and theophylline. Together these increase energy levels without the negative side effects of coffee.
While Yerba Mate has similar properties to Green Tea, it has a super concentration of antioxidants and contains 24 vitamins and minerals including magnesium, potassium. It has been used for its health benefits by native tribes in South America for centuries. Combined with the right diet and exercise it is often used as a slimming tea as it supports the feeling of satiety [the full feeling]. Consequently, drinking the tea can help to curb hunger in aid of eating less. Yerba mate contains vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants such as flavonoids that fight the oxidizing action of free radicals which can cause disease and early ageing.
